The meeting point is the castle inner courtyard at 2:25 PM. In case of bad weather, participants will meet in the foyer in front of the reception.
The event in the "Adventures in the Homeland" series costs €5.00 for adults and €2.00 for children up to 12 years old, and is to be paid in cash on site to the tour guide.
The payment processing is handled by the Altenkirchen District Adult Education Center.
As soon as the minimum number of participants is reached, you will receive a specific confirmation.
As part of our event series "Adventure Homeland", you will visit the castle complex Freusburg on this date.
Participation by prior registration: The event is fully booked. You are welcome to be placed on the waiting list.
The early medieval hill castle in Freusburg, Kirchen (Sieg), has been used as a youth hostel since 1928 and, with about 60,000 overnight stays per year, is one of the most visited youth hostels in Germany. Historian Dr. Jens Friedhoff can not only talk about the long history of the building and its noble owners, but also about the extensive renovations carried out by Ernst Stahl in the course of establishing "model youth hostels." Dr. Friedhoff will guide you through the outdoor area as well as through the castle cellar, the vault, the cellar, and into sleeping quarters and other interesting locations of the castle complex.
