Description

Start at Wirges train station and cycle northeast into Bahnhofstraße. The Westerwald Cathedral impresses in Wirges, as does the Glassblower-Potter Fountain Sculpture. A short detour leads to the Tonbergbaumuseum in Siershahn.

The route passes through former mining pits that shaped this region for over 400 years. Appreciate the history of mining with minerals, ore, and silver, which only came to a halt after World War II. In contrast, Staudt continues to mine clay, which is then processed into ceramics at a large facility.

Enjoy the picturesque nature of the Westerwald during the bike tour. The route passes through animal protection areas and Flora-Fauna Habitats, highlighting the beauty of this region.
