Just in time for the start of the Advent season, Bad Marienberg's Bismarckstraße will be ablaze with lights and the advertising association invites you to the traditional Christmas market around the first weekend of Advent. From Thursday 28 November to Sunday 1 December 2024, the spa zone and market square will be transformed into a wonderful traditional Christmas village.
Numerous traders offer their wares in cosy wooden huts and Christmas stalls. In addition to decorative items made of wood, home-made jewellery, scarves and lambskin items, this year's popular nativity scenes from the Sauerland region will also be on sale.
Of course, numerous culinary offerings attract visitors from the region and from afar to the Marmer Christmas market site. For the youngest visitors, the children's carousel will of course be spinning to the sounds of Christmas lights. In the spa zone, the children's tent awaits a reader and the little ones can do handicrafts and make gingerbread.
Crafts are an integral part of a traditional Christmas market. Many artisans present their home-made goods and a blacksmith demonstrates his skills every day.
St Nicholas is also guaranteed to drop by the Marmer Christmas market on Saturday and Sunday from 4.00 pm. On Friday, for the first time, there will be a children's hands-on programme from the Westerwald district music school, which you can look forward to.
The music programme on the market square stage offers a varied programme for all tastes and ages. In addition to traditional sounds performed by various bands and vocal contributions (Johannes Feick and the group Stimmt!), the evening will be characterised by soloists (Sascha Ax), duos (Rusty Buds) and a trio led by the well-known singer-songwriter Mirko Santocono.
Unfortunately, the shops will have to remain closed on Sunday, as the laws in Rhineland-Palatinate do not permit Sundays open for business in December.
The Bad Marienberg advertising association, the town of Bad Marienberg and all sponsors are looking forward to four eventful days and welcome all guests from near and far to the Bad Marienberg Christmas Market 2024. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
