As a passionate collector of railway posters from all over the world, Wilfried Rinker was looking for a place where he could make his collection accessible to the public.
A collaboration with the Westerwald railway enthusiasts, who had already breathed new life into the historic locomotive shed, seemed the ideal combination to him.
So in 2013 he bought the Westerburg railway station on the spur of the moment to transform it room by room into the Railway Poster Museum.
Dedicating an entire museum to railway posters is probably unique in Germany.
Together with others, Wilfried Rinker is pursuing the complete museum preservation of the entire Westerburg railway station complex with signal boxes, station building and locomotive station as an overall concept "Westerwald Adventure Station".
