The witch's tree - a beautiful resting place with history - surrounded by nine linden trees.

In the Rennerod area at the time of Count Johann VI. von Nassau-Dillenburg and Johann-Ludwig von Nassau-Hadamar only held a few witch trials. This was probably due to the attitude of the two highly educated men, they urged prudence: In particular, suspected magicians and witches should not be accused simply by reporting them, but only after careful inquiries. As soon as the level-headed prince died, a wave of witch trials flooded the Westerwald. In 1653 alone, twelve people from the Rennerod court were suspected of witchcraft and executed at the Rennerod witch tree.
