Sparkling candlelight, golden forks and veal fillet with rosemary cream - someone must be expecting celebrity guests. But no, look: next to a blind man sits a homeless man in a tattered shirt and at the very bottom of the table a beggar with disheveled hair.
Excuse me? What's wrong here?
Everything is actually right here - at least from God's perspective. Jesus once tells a story about a host who is just as happy to have the marginalized of society at his table as the highly respected. He wants to convey this beautiful image of God to his listeners: God is turned towards all people, God excludes no one - and for those whom no one else sees, he obviously has a particularly loving eye.
This is the message that the musical "In Gottes Festsaal ist noch Platz" by the children's choir "Sonnenstrahlen für Jesus" aims to convey.
The musical is set in the time of Jesus. The songs are carried by partly traditional, but then also modern arrangements. In addition, there are meaningful dialogs - so the audience is taken directly into a touching story about generosity, disappointment, mercy and a love that nothing can stop.
At the end of the musical, one thing prevails above all: the astonished joy that the host - God - opens his banquet hall to everyone who wants to be part of his wonderful feast!

Following the successful and fully booked premiere in November 2023, the children's choir "Sonnenstrahlen für Jesus" will be staging the musical "In Gottes Festsaal ist noch Platz" once again on 20 and 21 April. The more than 60 enthusiastic and highly motivated children of the children's choir will be supported by a 7-piece live band. The concerts in the Mehrzweckhalle in Haiger-Allendorf start at 18:00. The children's choir "Sonnenstrahlen für Jesus" is known from various events in the local area, e.g. the annual performances at the Children's Day in Dillenburg.
