Event
Werner Düll: ACRYL, CORTEN, COLOUR & CO. - Steel-rich new pictures".
Werner Düll already impressed the guests at his first exhibition in the Stöffel Park in 2016. His pictures conveyed a lot of colour and style. And he still has this weakness. At that time, the exhibition was under the motto "Colour meets basalt - from maple red to citrus yellow". This time the motto was: "ACRYL, CORTEN, COLOUR & CO. - Steel rich new pictures".
Slightly different from the usual vernissage dates of the Stöffel-Park, Düll's vernissage in the Café Kohleschuppen starts on Sunday, August 9 2020, already at 3 pm.
Rust and acrylic
The painter presents new works, some of which combine abstract painting with rusty steel surfaces in a special way. This creates a strong contrast between the mostly colourful surfaces of the paintings and the applied metal surfaces, which clearly enhance the effect of the colours. The mounted steel surfaces give the paintings additional depth.
Werner Düll, who lives, works and indulges in art in Niedernhausen (Taunus), on the title of the exhibition: "He alludes to some of the materials I use in the creation of the new works, especially the Cor-Ten steel, which I have been using more and more in the recent past. This can already be seen on my website www.poikilos.de."
In "real" life, Düll pursues a commercial profession that rather demands his rational-creative abilities. As a counterbalance to this, he deals with art in the broadest sense and can show his emotional-creative side.
Decay that inspires
Düll is inspired on journeys and excursions into nature, among other things by abandoned and empty buildings, but also by often morbid-looking industrial areas or disused industrial plants, stranded ships and other objects that are no longer used according to their original purpose and therefore slowly decay and rust. The partly decaying industrial architecture of the Stöffel Park in particular is an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration for him, and this time, in addition to paintings, a number of photographs by Werner Düll are also on display. Similar to his paintings, they show interesting surfaces and details, unusual perspectives or simply a lot of colour.
On August 9, 2020, the artist himself will welcome the guests of the vernissage and guide them through the exhibition.
Concert with Peter Autschbach afterwards
Directly after the vernissage, a concert will take place from 5:30 p.m. directly next to the Café Kohleschuppen in the Alte Schmiede in the Stöffel Park - to be heard (and absolutely worth listening to!) are guitarist Peter Autschbach and singer Samira Saygili.
