Event
ww-Lit. and the LOGO bookshop invite you to a reading with Udo Lielischkies in the Westerburg town hall.
How did it come to this in Ukraine? What is happening in Putin's Russia? These are the questions many people are asking themselves these days. We would like to invite you to a reading with Udo Lielischkies from his book "Im Schatten des Kreml - Unterwegs in Putins Russland".
Lielischkies describes with great closeness and empathy the concerns of the "little man" in Russia - far away from the metropolis of Moscow, in a thoroughly corrupt system, dominated by the propaganda of the media. Of Putin's wars in Chechnya, the brutal crackdown in Grozny and Aleppo. A large part of the book is devoted to Ukraine - this sympathetic country striving for democracy and freedom - from the events on the Maidan in 2014 to the annexation of Crimea and the occupation of the Donbas.
Udo Lielischkies reported from 1999-2006 and from 2014-2018 for ARD as studio director from Moscow. As part of the Westerwald Literature Days, the Logo bookstore from Westerburg and the WW-Lit. team invite you to this dramatically topical reading.
