To the Tour PlanerThe Marienthal Monastery is idyllically located in untouched nature. From here we pass several small villages and hike over forest, field and meadow paths to the tranquil town of Ahlhausen. From now on, the Nister accompanies us on our way past Stein-Wingert to the point of view of the Spitze Ley, where we are fascinated by the view over the wild and romantic Kroppacher Switzerland. Back in the Nister Valley, the Nister Bridge in Heimborn leads us across the river to the "German Corner of the Westerwald", a particularly charming piece of earth where the small and the large Nister flow together. We follow the Nister past the Lützelauer Mühle until we can once again enjoy a grandiose view from the Hohe Ley viewpoint. Now we pay a visit to the Assberg roof slate pit. Finally we reach our destination in the Nistertal, the Cistercian Abbey of Marienstatt, and have a rest in the brewery or enjoy the silence in the beautiful monastery garden.
