From Wissen train station, the access path leads along the Sieg to the main path. The natural path changes to the right side of the river. The start is steep, up to Schönstein and into the winding valley of the Firzelbach. Steadily climbing uphill, your first beautiful view of the surrounding heights opens up at Blickhausen, and a little later you will discover a window into times gone by: a view over the dump of the Rasselskaute mine, complete with an information board, teaches you about the region's mining tradition. You continue up and down towards the campsite, along the way you overcome a steep section secured by ropes. This stage reaches the Sieg through the beautiful Osenbacher Seifental, a narrow trail winds directly along the steep bank before it goes steeply up to the “Steckensteiner Kopf” viewing rock above the Siegschleife. First below, then above – a great contrast. There are always beautiful views of the undulating hinterland towards Mittelhof. Past the mobile home park, a winding path leads you through dense forest down to Scheuerfeld, which occasionally flashes through the leaves.
