The Druidenstein is one of the most outstanding sights in the Sieg nature region. After the ascent via a pilgrimage trail, you can celebrate your “mountain feast” directly on the imposing basalt cone. High above the treetops, you can enjoy the panoramic landscape from the 18-metre-high Otto Tower at the end of the tour.

A short access path leads from Alsdorf station to the main path, which crosses the Heller and leads into the Imhäuser valley. The route climbs steadily towards Herkersdorf, past fish ponds and moors. It soon becomes steeper and you gather all your reserves for the ascent to the Druidenstein. For a short stretch, the Sieg nature trail accompanies the E1, which leads from Sweden to Umbria. A little wanderlust sets in. The route climbs along the beautifully designed Way of the Cross, a pilgrimage route that recreates the Passion of Jesus Christ. Once you reach the top, you can marvel at the Druidenstein, an imposing basalt cone that is the subject of legends and myths. You continue through a sparse forest regeneration area in the direction of Offhausen and into the valley of the Imhäuser stream, which you will soon leave again. The Otto Tower, which sits enthroned on the 405 m high Kahlenberg, challenges you to a final ascent and delights you with a fantastic all-round view at a height of 18 m. Great! Once you've had your fill, leave the main path a little further on and follow the access path down to Kirchen station.
