Description

We start on wide forest roads at the hiking car park in Hausen (OT Hahnen). On both sides of the path we see various reforestation projects and enjoy the wide views. Halfway we can take the shorter loop back to the car park via the forest path or follow the meadow path towards the valley. Here we enjoy fantastic views of the monastery landscape of the Wiedtal and the heights of the Rengsdorfer Land. On the horizon we discover the Georg mine near Willroth. Our path leads us a few meters parallel to the district road, which we cross twice (be careful). A detour to the viewing plateau on Lake Malbergsee with a lounger swing offers a great view of the basalt walls. On the basalt nature trail we can learn a lot about basalt mining from the information boards. Our path leads us up to the Malberg hut, where we can enjoy regional dishes and wonderful views on the sun terrace before heading back to the parking lot.

Public transport
