The unique world of the visitor mine "Grube Bindweide" in Steinebach/Sieg offers an unforgettable experience for young and old, combined with a journey through time. The newly designed museum area, which was developed according to a comprehensive museum educational concept, gives an idea of what becomes reality underground. The mine railway takes visitors into the mountain, where they are shown the remaining workplaces, equipment and various mining techniques. A demonstration in the new mine forge with active participation rounds off the programme. Since 2012, the "underground breathing therapy" has been taking place in the former powder chamber. Here people suffering from respiratory allergies or similar complaints can experience a beneficial relief from breathing. The air is almost free of pollen and dust particles. In April 2015, the Bindweide mine was included in the German Heilstollenverband as the 11th certified healing gallery.
