To the Tour PlanerAfter the railway line was closed in 1985, the cycling and hiking path was built by the Wallmerod and Westerburg municipalities and opened at the end of the 1980s. The towns of Westeburg and Wallmerod were thus connected.
The route leads from Westerburg via Sainscheid, Kölbingen, Härtlingen, Mähren, Herschbach/Oww. to Wallmerod and covers a distance of around 12 kilometers. The path has only slight inclines and is therefore very suitable for family tours with children. The fine asphalt also makes the cycling and hiking path a popular destination for inline skaters.
There are several opportunities to take a short break along the way. The cycling and hiking path is signposted according to the criteria of the Rhineland-Palatinate cycling path guidelines and is part of the Rhineland-Palatinate cycle route.
